Wide Straight Fit

The wide straight is the silhouette of 1940s American workwear: high rise, a wide and completely straight leg, a generous cut that allows freedom of movement. Reinterpreted by Japanese denim with fabrics and construction at a level the original never had.

It's a fit that demands a structured fabric — otherwise it collapses. Japanese selvedge denim, with its density and irregular yarns, is exactly the right material: it holds its shape, drapes well and develops fading at points of movement in a visually striking way.
